nom nom friday

this week was a very eventful week, as we had no electricity till thursday and also lots of work.

my bfast: the usual fix of savory oatmeal with grapes and bluecheese!
it was okay, but a little bit dry. wanted a little bit of mix to kinda make it alittle bit less dry but only had yogurt so mixed it with a spoonful of yogurt!

this weekend is family weekend, so val is trying to impress with local farmers' productions!
these are the apples. i stole four of the apples and two of the pears, and more for munching on. steph did that too.

maple cookies..super sweet didnt touch them.

random ravioli and spicy seafood bits. like shrimp, mussels, scallops..

but the best part was actually the vanilla and cinnamon ice cream! munched on a bit with some apple crisp..buttery guilt!
but
my plate! you can see the yummy looking perfect scoops of ice cream, shrimp, salty seafood bits, and the ravioli that was too greasy. 우웩!
during the day i watched get low. it was pretty good movie, with a bits of touching parts here and there, but no totally memorable. but a nice, relaxing friday afternoon!

met up with sylvia to cook! hehe... this is our wine from wholefoods.guess how much it is! its actually not that bad.
it was !! 3 bucks.

we grilled the eggplant till it was soft, and mixed the salad that was going to be on top. tomatoes , feta cheese from val, mint leftovers, lemon juice, .... a refreshing mix! oh and some capers.

the slightly charred eggplant was a really good compliment with the salty salad! i really liked it. refreshing.
the risotto part was bit tricky, as sylvia's vegetarian we used veggie broth. but i dont know if i want to use it again since it really strongly smelled of veggies. eww.

its butternut squash risotto! we roasted the risotto first and then started sauteing the onions with ginger and garlic! then added the rice, wine, and broth. but i think the onions werent thoroughly cooked, so it still had a crunchy bites of onions even after we absorbed all the broth in...but it was still okay! i remember the time we made mushroom risotto. yum..

our perfect looking risotto with fresh parsley on top! hehe.
it was yummy and we finished the chianti wine we bought from wholefoods. its an italian wine from the chianti region. there's this wine brand called 90+ cellars, and they have different types of wines with only the grape varietals on it. apparently they use leftover wines from famous vineyards from different regions, but they dont tell you where the grapes are from !like mystery wine..keeping the prices low instead. but apparently all high quality wines. the wine was really smooth , and it was good. not to acidic as some italian wines can be.

then we returned home. i changed into my pajamas, all happy and that..but then eltom fb chatted me..and steph and i was forced to go to this drinking game. but its been such a long time since i had actually played some games, so it was actually pretty fun! just thoughtless laughing and joking around..except the horny umass girl kinda got on my nerves..wth..

relax/tiring friday!
